Tecnica Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

For the ‘08-’09 ski season Tecnica unleashes the Dragon series. Successor to the Diablo, the Tecnica Dragon carries forward a tradition started with the Tecnus Comp. The Dragon is distinctly different from the Diablo-visually and functionally-yet on snow the overall character has the familiarity of preceding generations. Along with a new look accentuating the 3D molding technology-the Dragon significantly differs from the Diablo….

Salomon Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

The big buzz for Salomon is a customizable shell available in the Falcon. Any shell can be customized but the Falcon CS Pro incorporates Kaprolene, a patented thermally responsive plastic in both sides of the forefoot that uses lower temperatures than normal to heat the shell plastic…

Rossignol Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

New for ’08-’09, Rossi’s Sensor 3 system has a unique application for multiple density plastics in some of their shells and has made some notable liner modifications. There may seem to be no news here but the application and placement of the materials significantly affects the feel and efficiency of boots that feature Sensor 3 technology…

Nordica Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

Nordica has become a juggernaut. They get stronger and better-stronger products, better range of fits. Their lineup encompasses a wide range of skier and foot types and their boots hit the target every time. Nordica entered the abducted boot fray with the super high end Aggressor series…

Lange Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

“Crazy Blue” is gone; for the 2008-2009 ski season Lange returns to a more customary Lange deep blue tinted transparent shell plastic. Aside from cosmetics the high end shells have been redesigned and the liners improved. Lange has not entirely succumbed to the abducted shell movement-what they have done is move the foot-part of the shell laterally or outward-placing the feet more over the inside edge of the ski, their description…

Head Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

The Head Edge +11 and Edge + 10 L have found a solid niche. The Edge + 11 and its ladies counterpart, the Edge + 10 L, are unchanged. Both are wide at 104mm across the forefoot and high volume. The spaciousness is coupled with fair proximity to the mid-foot and good heel retention…

Fischer Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

Fischer has become a big-time player in Bootworld. Though not much of a presence at the launch of abducted boots as a viable idea-they‘re somewhat of an upstart as boot makers-they‘ve set a high standard. Soma-tec is the name given their abducted stance. All Fischer boots are set up this way. Soma-tec is distinct from other abducted shells because they not only position the forefoot more outward, they also move the heel inward over the inside edge of the ski…

Dalbello Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

The Krypton series has developed a solid following that has carried beyond the cult status attained by what has been perceived as its predecessor, the Raichle Flexon. Though not truly the case, this perception has helped put the Krypton on the map. Regardless of the semantics, the Krypton series has given Flexon aficionados a more than acceptable substitute and for those who did not have the past pleasure, they will benefit from the attributes of the refined version…

Atomic Boot Review

November 14th, 2008

The model offering from Atomic has been pared down some. The introduction of the Hawx line, with the patented I-Flex which allows both the boot soles and the forefoot of the shell to flex, was quite successful in both men’s and women’s models. Since the inception of the Beta series Atomic shells are very anatomically shaped…like they belong on human feet; enlarged toe box, perpendicular medial wall and a well defined heel pocket…

Wow continued!

November 11th, 2008

If you haven’t read any of the recent blogs, winter is here.  We got more snow Saturday night throughout Sunday.  For those of you who were here over the weekend and weren’t able to ski the top on Sunday I have a few pictures from Monday morning.  For those of you who called in sick on Monday and you know who you are, you picked a great day to play hookey.

I heard a few people talking on the gondola and there coughs or sickness sure didn’t seem to bad to me.  Either way, good call.  The skiing has been incredible for November.  No lift lines and unlimited good lines to ski off the top if that’s what you are into.  By the way, chair 2 opened today.  I don’t like getting my hopes up for good snow this early in the year, but I haven’t been able to wipe that stupid grin off of my face for a week now. You gotta love skiing.
