2 Feet of Fresh Snow!!

March 23rd, 2009

Just when you think winter is over and spring has arrived, we got 2 feet of fresh powder on Saturday night and woke up today to clear skies and 15 degrees.. I skied on Friday and  for anyone who thinks winter is over – they are wrong! We have great snow, sunny skies forecast and cooler temps into the weekend and the slopes are NOT at all crowded..Rumour has it that the mountain will stay open past Memorial weekend which would be great! It would be a shame to close with all of that snow.

Blue skies and lots of snow

March 12th, 2009

It seems like spring is getting closer.  The days are longer thanks to the recent time change.  Mammoth Mountain is now over the 400 inch mark for snowfall for the year.  This week has been crisp and cold with plenty of sunshine and firm wind blown snow for all to enjoy.  Come on up and enjoy the great conditions and sunshine.  I skied a couple of laps today and the snow was firm and fast with virtually no one on the hill.  It is nice to open it up a little when there isn’t much traffic to contend with.  We should be set into the spring time with the amount of snow on the hill.  Attached is a photo of Mammoth Mountain as seen from the June Lake/San Joaquin Ridge area.  Definitely a different perspective.  Hope to see everyone up here during spring break.
