It is still snowing fairly heavily at the moment.  The snow has been falling since Monday and the storm is supposed to be pretty intense tonight through tomorrow.  I was pleasantly surprised to find Chair 22 running at 8:30 this morning and hardly a soul around.  The skiing was unbelievably good, deep snow and very quiet.  I will try to update with some pictures later in the week.  Things are definitely looking pretty good around here.

It started snowing in town early this morning.  Throughout the day it has picked up and we have about six inches in the Footloose parking lot.  It is absolutely beautiful when the snow is falling straight down.  Things should be pretty wet all week and we will keep you posted with the storm accumulations throughout the week.

MLK storm

We got a foot plus of fresh snow a day ago and the wind has been buffing the mountain out all day.  The coverage is really good right now and is only going to get better the next 7 days.  It is forecasted to start snowing sunday with the potential to keep going until next Thursday.  We should have at least several more feet of snow by the middle of next week.  We will try to keep you informed as soon as the snow starts flying.  Below is a picture of Travis, one of our long time boot fitters, making a few turns earlier today.

Now that the Xmas crowds have gone, the slopes are quiet again leaving us all the chance to go out and explore. Coverage and conditions are as good as they have ever been – winter snow, highs in the upper 30’s, and most of the mountain open. Everyone has mid week deals for January so those who can make it up are in for a treat..No weather forecast for the next 10 days..put your chains away.
