Wednesday's bike rides!

  1. Fifteen happy riders gathered at the Whitmore pool parking lot on a warm, sunny, blue-sky morning for the Footloose Wednesday Women’s Ride lead as always by our always genial coach Bobby Lichen. After seven miles of “tour de gnats” and a brief stop near Brown’s Campground for a photo everyone continued on to Waterson Divide and made it to the top of the 4 mile climb in good form. We chatted for a bit and “gooed up” then some riders headed back to Whitmore and others continued on towards Wildrose Summit.

Later in the afternoon some of the same riders, including Melody, Lindsay, Tucker, Joan, Ginnie and moi, met at Footloose with a number of other riders for the Tolleys and Trails mountain bike ride. We were transported via town trolley to Minaret Vista where we started our ride back down to town via the Beach Cruiser and Downtown trails. Ginnie and I hadn’t been on our mountain bikes for at least 10 years so that kept it “interesting”. With the able assistance of our Footloose guide Matt we all made it down with only some minor superficial damage and had a hoot of a good time. Judging by the “vocalizations” Melody had a double-hoot of a good time.

Many thanks to Footloose for hosting these great rides.
