Kids Ski Programs and Discounts
At Footloose Sports we believe skiing is an all-ages sport that’s even more fun when shared with the whole family. But getting your kids skiing is expensive! We have a variety of programs to help reduce this hassle and expense.
Kids Seasonal Ski Rental Program
Our kids seasonal rental program offers a great solution for your kids aged 12 and under.

Junior Trade-In Program
We’re proud to offer our Junior Trade-In Program to let your growing skier have the best junior equipment available at an affordable price. This is a great solution as they grow from season to season.
Buy new junior boots or skis and return it within one year of the original purchase date and receive a 30% credit toward the purchase of new junior equipment. All equipment purchased must be new and in the junior category (no adult equipment).
Equipment must be returned in good condition and will be evaluated by our technicians. Boots will not be accepted for trade-in if any permanent modifications have been made.
This program runs from October 1 to May 31 each year.
Locals Only: Ski PE Program Discounts
We’re happy to get to help local families with the cost of skiing for our local elementary school students. If a seasonal rental isn’t what you’re looking for, we rent to ski PE students on a daily basis.
We offer a 50% discount on any rental, so our standard rental works out to $14/day for skis/boots/poles, $14/day for snowboard boots/helmet, or $21/day for either package with a helmet included.
You can pick up your equipment the night before and return it the day after you ski by 9 a.m. This program is for local residents only.
Junior Superfeet Program
As passionate skiers, we strongly believe in underfoot support to add comfort and performance for all ages. For juniors only, buy one custom Superfeet product at full price and exchange it for a new size as needed until the age of 18 for FREE. The new Superfeet product must be of equal or lesser value. Keep your receipt for a faster exchange.
We also offer trim-to-fit Superfeet footbeds at a 50% discount for juniors. These aren’t eligible for trade-in or upgrades.

We offer various discounts for members of the Mammoth Mountain Race Team. Ask a shop employee for details.

Snowshoe Rentals
Mammoth Lakes has so much to offer in the winter whether you like to ski or not. Snowshoeing is a great way to take in Mammoth’s beauty in the winter. Except for fee areas like Mammoth Mountain, you can snowshoe pretty much anywhere in the Mammoth area.
Snowshoe Rental Pricing
We rent unisex snowshoes for adults and kids for $24/day and $18/half day. Poles are $6 and are usually recommended but this depends where you plan to venture to. Visit the shop to rent snowshoes.
No lesson is needed to learn how to snowshoe — you can grab snowshoes and head out for the day and have a great time.
